VAT & Corporate Tax · UAE

Full FTA compliance in the UAE. Structured properly.

VAT and Corporate Tax handled end to end for Dubai and UAE businesses — registration, filing, structuring and audit defence. The cost of non-compliance in the UAE is consistently higher than the cost of getting advice early.

Questions

Straight answers.

When do we have to register for Corporate Tax?

Corporate Tax applies to financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023, and registration is required for taxable persons including mainland companies, free zone entities and certain natural persons. Filing is mandatory even where taxable income is zero or you are claiming Small Business Relief.

What happens if we made an error on a past VAT return?

It depends on size and timing. Some errors can be corrected in the next return; others require a voluntary disclosure. Disclosing before the FTA notifies you of an audit carries a substantially lower penalty than disclosing after, which is the practical argument for reviewing old returns now.

Our company is in a free zone — do these rules apply?

Yes. Free zone entities face the same VAT thresholds as mainland companies. For Corporate Tax, a 0% rate applies only to qualifying income of a Qualifying Free Zone Person meeting every condition — and non-qualifying income is taxed at 9%.

What is changing on 1 October 2026?

Two things. Cabinet Decision No. 149 of 2026 restricts input VAT recovery on supplies above a threshold paid in cash, with the threshold still to be confirmed by the Ministry of Finance. And FTA Decision No. 13 of 2026 requires documented verification of suppliers before input tax is claimed at all.

Can you represent us in an FTA audit?

Yes. We prepare the documentation, handle correspondence and represent your position. Businesses whose records are already organised tend to come through audits far more comfortably than those reconstructing evidence under time pressure.
